Laveena’s Date

Small pint but mighty attitude, Laveena is very unassuming. She is confident, assured and determined. But yet, cozy, laid back and easy going. As a woman, I love her contradictions. Because same girl. Quite but loud with her eyes saying a million things her howl doesn’t. But her howl? Hauntingly beautiful. This girl called to me before I even met her in person, and I knew she needed us. A small photo and that’s all it took for us (me) to know she was coming home. She reminds me of Kytana in the oddest of ways, but I know she’ll never replace Kytana… its lovely to see those daily “Tana Reminders”.

This March date was all about her sweet sassy self! As a lazy adventure and foodie, we thought it would be perfect for her to join us for a small lunch and a date to Home Depot for garden supplies. That might sound boring for some but for her? This is right in her wheelhouse! Starting at Home Depot, we double checked puppers are allowed. Double check with your local store! Policies have changed and some are not allowing pets -guide dogs and service dogs only! This Home Depot is not allowed to hand out treats -a bite incident a few months ago led to this decision. I always bring our own treats and ask her to do a small trick her or there and she loves to show off! Plus, the attention? She loves this! She started showing off at the customer service center as soon as we walked in the door. Her confidence and assuredness are through the roof. Imagine this: she strutted in there like she owned the store! The customer service representative looked similar to gram so, Bean was more than thrilled for scratches from this sweet lady!

She absolutely loved the attention and time everyone gave her – I always dote on them but having a bunch of other humans cooing and coddling over her – she couldn’t resist the lovins’! Home Depot has a gorgeous selection of herbs and plants! Strawberries already are budding; lavender, basil and all those gorgeous spring aromas are filling the air. Bean loved her “sniffari”! We let her “help” pick out which plants we were going to get. There are some big plans for building a garden at our RV site- I cannot wait!! Over in lumber, Bean was more than happy to help pawpa pick out lumber for the raised beds. Being her sweet self, and gentle natured, she laid at our feet while we checked out.

Lunch needed to be easy, delicious, gluten free and shaded plus a pup friendly patio – not too much to ask, is it? We landed on MOD Pizza. I popped in and double checked on their pup policy and hubs grabbed us an outside table while I placed the order. The Caspian sounded delicious! Imagine melty cheese, sweet BBQ sauce, and savory chicken atop a gluten free crust. Add a little roasted red pepper and a drizzle of their BBQ swirl. Mhmmm, it was as good as it sounds! Laveena loved the crust and sat pretty while we enjoyed our meal. As a last stop surprise, since lunch was under twenty dollars, I placed an online order for Starbucks so we could sit outside and enjoy a coffee before heading home. She absolutely enjoyed every stop, head scratch and sweet comment passed her way. This lazy date was the perfect way to celebrate her sweet self!

Cheers to our next adventure!
