RV Sweet RV

Our RV is special to us! She is a safe haven, a beacon, a call to a simple way of living. She is the door we opened that has led to some of the most amazing places! We are beyond grateful for how we live now!

Not being picky, we bought her sight unseen April 2020. Our only request was a lighter towable fifth wheel that would have tall enough ceilings for the hubs (he is 6’5″). A few calls with a salesman at Shaw RV in NC, handful of photos, our loan preapproval and we set a date to pick her up! We knew exactly what we needed even though we had never bought, much less lived in a fifth wheel. Our floorplan is quite typical for most fifth wheels.

We love the simplicity of our layout! It is everything we need for our lives to be simpler, more efficient and calmer. Our kitchen is the heart of our RV. Perfect for us – we are a bunch of foodies, here! We removed a large cabinet and added floating shelves. We have prep space galore, storage and a pantry. A large farmhouse sink, three burner gas stove and a rather large fridge/freezer round out the rest of the essentials. Our island has turned into a racetrack while we are cooking… the boys chase each other around it and under our feet! P.S Atty always lets Forrest win!

My favorite space is our back living area. We’ve replaced the large back sofa with a futon. It is left in the “bed position” for the kids. I, personally, love a hot cup of tea, our heated blanket and snuggling up with the kiddos most evenings. That area is deliciously sunny, bright and so comforting! ABeing minimalist, there is more unused overhead storage. To cozy up our space even more, there are a few plants hanging from the ceiling and photos adorn the walls.

Surprisingly, our bathroom is what throws most folks off when visiting our RV. It is a very typical “house” kind of space. We have dual sinks, storage galore underneath, a full-size shower with a skylight plus built in shelves for more storage! Continuing the tour to the bedroom. Small, cozy but with loads of storage. Not a full residential king bed but we make do with all 6 of us snuggled in most nights. We have storage underneath the bed, a full wardrobe and a dresser.

Outside, we have just as much storage, if not more, and it is designed for outside living! Both retractable awnings expand 10 plus feet; so, no matter the weather we can always enjoy fresh air. We have a mount and tv connections on the side of the RV. Plus speakers! During the warmer months, we simply disconnect the TV inside, bring it out and within 5 minutes we secured, connected and ready to pick a movie!
